Practice focuses on commercial litigation, business torts, toxic torts, products liability, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and environmental litigation.

Relevant Experience

  • Represented pharmaceutical drug and medical device manufacturers in class action and complex multidistrict litigation.
  • Defended numerous companies and trade associations in mass toxic tort actions and Superfund claims brought by government and private parties.
  • Obtained multimillion dollar recoveries for plaintiffs in personal injury cases including record verdict in one jurisdiction.
  • Prosecuted and defended unfair trade practice and securities-based actions arising out of corporate mergers and acquisitions.
  • Represented banks and other financial institutions in connection with breach of fiduciary duty, business tort and statutory claims.
  • Defended telecommunications carriers in connection with claims arising under 1996 Telecommunications Act.
  • Defended and prosecuted claims relating to manufacture of defective software and implementation of software systems.
  • Briefed or argued over forty appeals in the highest state courts, federal circuit courts of appeal and U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Defended numerous Fortune 500 companies in product liability actions filed in state and federal courts.
  • Led second career as Army Reserve judge advocate, trained as Airborne Ranger, serving in special operations and airborne units.
